Attention: open in a new window. Print

In 2014 South West Credit celebrates its 50th Anniversary. As part of this significant milestone we take time to reflect on the achievements of the organisation, and reflect on the down times from which we learned. We also acknowledge the hard work and commitment of individuals and the community that has helped make South West Credit the success it is today.

50th Anniversary Booklet

To mark this milestone we have published a special 50th Anniversary Booklet, we have recounted the stories and perspectives of key players in this organisation’s evolution to paint a picture of how South West Credit has carved a special niche in its local community.

On Tuesday 28th October, 2014, South West Credit celebrated its 50th Anniversary at The Lady Bay Resort, 2 Pertobe Road, Warrnambool, at the conclusion of its 50th Annual General Meeting.

At the celebrations we were able to honour one of our long-serving board members Alan O'Connor, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Alan served on the board of South West Credit Union for more than 3 decades and had a significant impact on the business during his time, displaying incredible passion, professionalism and commitment to the business.
The Alan O'Connor Memorial Award is a very fitting way to honour Alan's contribution to South West Credit during his time on the board.
The award was deservingly presented to Member Care Consultant Chris Hansford for his professionalism and incredible work ethic which reflects the Credit Union's core values. We would like to congratulate Chris on receiving this significant award.
A .s part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, South West Credit presented five community groups with an equal share of $50,000 as part of our philanthropic fund. The five groups that were chosen to receive the funds display similar values to South West Credit and carry out amazing work in our local community. We are extremely proud to have provided five grants of $10,000 to:

The Leila Rose Foundation
Warrnambool and District Community Hospice
Standing Tall in Warrnambool Inc.
Warrnambool & District Food Share
Defibrillator Program
