27th May, 2021

As the Victorian Chief Health Officer advised earlier today, Victoria will move to a 7 day lockdown from 11:59pm tonight. These restrictions will remain in place until 11:59pm on 3 June, 2021 (at this stage).

Following this announcement, South West Credit will be implementing its COVID-19 plan, to not only comply with the lockdown restrictions, but more importantly to keep our members and community safe.

Refer to the following points below:

  • Restricted Branch Access: we ask that customers only come into the branch if it is absolutely necessary. For your safety, the safety of our staff and our entire community, if you can conduct your banking through our online banking channels, or by using your card, you should do so.
  • Follow the Guidelines: if you must come into the branch, please use our hand sanitizer stations upon entry.  Face masks must be worn and social distancing rules must be adhered to.
  • Limited Access Points: the rear Parkers Carpark entrance will be closed effective Friday 28th May, 2021, please use the front Lava Street entrance if you must come into the branch.
  • Check-in using QR Code: it is essential that all people entering our branch, register using our QR Code, to assist with contact tracing if required.
  • Please Be Patient: our new phone system which was implemented as part of our COVID-19 plan, will enable better communication, however please be patient as we anticipate a significant increase in calls.

It is clear that this virus isn’t going away, as it continues to mutate and create new variants.  Herd immunity through vaccines are the only way we’ll ever get back to normal.

From tomorrow and dependent upon supply from the Federal Government, all Victorians over the age of 40 will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. For those not aware, Warrnambool’s vaccination hub, is ran by South West Healthcare, at the Bayside City Plaza, 184 Merri Street (formerly Sam’s Warehouse). Bookings can be made here or by calling 1800 965 144.

Understandably, these types of situations can be overwhelming, remember there are great telephone and online support services. Lifeline (13 11 14) and Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800) can be accessed for phone and online counselling, with Lifeline phone counsellors on call from 7pm to midnight, and Kids Helpline available 24/7. Eheadspace also offers free online and telephone support and counselling.

Full details on the 7 day circuit breaker restrictions can be found here.

Please take care of yourselves, look out for each other and stay safe, we can get through this.

Regards,

David Brown
Chief Executive Officer
